ART FOR ANIMALS! Art For Animals! It is happening Saturday, July 17, 6:30 - 9:30 p.m. at the Flat Creek Inn. Tickets are $15 each and available at Art Beat or at the door. Please join us, bring your house guests and help the animals at the Northwoods Humane Society. Art For Animals is an evening of champagne, appetizers, the piano music of Joey Falch, the MC talents of Diane McNamer, a beautiful silent auction that includes original art work and a new addition this year – collectibles and antiques! The live auction will include a sculptured dog by Don Gahr, a full package to the Vikings VS Phoenix Suns game on November 7, a case of wine from Hookstone Winery – you choose your favorites, dinner with Max and Sonja, a hand crafted bow, arrows and quiver, plus more. A special note about our shelter staff! They are sharing their talents for this event. Shelter Manager Alecia Austin is donating a gift certificate for a specialty cake. Alecia is a professional baker and cake decorator so if you need a 3 dimensional cake in the form of a moose, a wine bottle, a dog or cat – you name the subject and she will do a masterful job of it. Randy Myer, our dog coordinator, is donating one of his beautiful stain glass windows and Lisa Lew, our assistant shelter manager, who is a bead artist, is donating a crystal wind chime. I also need to mention the original art work that was done by some of the shelter puppies – acrylic on canvas, framed and ready for hanging.
