Spay/Neuter

Spay & Neuter Assistance

Northwoods Humane Society offers several programs to help pet owners with financial assistance in getting their cats and dogs spayed or neutered. It may be free or at low cost to you. Our area vets, Hayward Animal Hospital, Care Animal Clinic and Family & Farm/Dr. Haugen, are generous in their support of our programs. See our Pet Medical Help page for more information and an online application form for Spay/Neuter assistance.

Thank you for being a responsible pet owner and helping to reduce the number of unwanted and abandoned animals. Even one litter is too many! Most pets are altered at 6 months of age. If your pet has had a litter, they should be completely weaned at 6 weeks of age and the mother spayed 2 weeks later. The babies should start their series of vaccinations at that time. If you have other questions, please ask your vet when you call for your appointment.
Our Spay Neuter Assistance Programs are for low and fixed income families.
Please fill out the application below. The results of the application will be e-mailed to you.
All programs require that your pet be vaccinated for the Rabies Virus, which will be the owner’s responsibility.

Please complete every box below or the submission will fail to send.
